Lake Berryessa Fishing Report
Water temperature: 68 degrees Fahrenheit
Weather: Sunny, in the 80s this weekend
Fishing conditions: Good
Bass fishing: Bass are starting to move up into shallower water and begin spawning. Anglers are having success fishing with swimbaits, jigs, and Texas rigs in 5 to 15 feet of water.
Crappie fishing: Crappie are starting to school up in the shallows. Anglers are having success fishing with crappie jigs and live minnows around docks, brush piles, and other structures.
Catches over the last 7 days:
Bass: 100+ fish
Crappie: 50+ fish
Tips for the weekend:
Get your minnows early. We have enough medium-sized minnows to last through the weekend, but if you are planning to fish, it's best to get them early. It's going to be a great weekend to fish, and we may run out faster than expected.
Be prepared for the heat. It's going to be a hot weekend, so be sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
Have fun! It's a great time to be fishing, so get out there and enjoy it.
Napa River Fishing Report
Water temperature: 53 degrees Fahrenheit
Weather: Sunny, mid-70s
Fishing conditions: Good
Striper fishing: Stripers are starting to move into the shallows in search of baitfish. Anglers are having success fishing with cut bait and lures, in 5 to 15 feet of water.
Sturgeon fishing: Sturgeon are still being caught in the deeper water, but they are starting to move into the shallows as well. Anglers are having success fishing with Ghost Shrimp, Pile Worms, and Lamprey Eeel on the bottom in 20 to 30 feet of water.
Catches over the last 7 days:
Stripers: 50+ fish
Sturgeon: 20+ fish
Tips for the weekend:
The warm weather this weekend should produce a great striper bite. Use lures or cut bait, in 5 to 15 feet of water.
Sturgeon are still being caught in the deeper water, but they are starting to move into the shallows as well. Use Ghost Shrimp, Pile Worms, or Lamprey Eeel. If you are on the boat, chase the marks, anchor and cast to them once you find a few in the lower water column.
Be prepared for the heat. It's going to be a hot weekend, so be sure to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated.
Have fun! It's a great time to be fishing, so get out there and enjoy it.
